ETC Parenting Class
Sep 7 - Oct 26 Sundays 10:45
Calvary Church Mid Rivers Room 131
ETC Parent Training equips parents with a holistic understanding of their child’s needs and development while empowering them with the tools and strategies to effectively meet those needs, build trust, and help their child heal and grow. The training is taught from a Christian perspective and focuses on a wide range of topics and issues relevant to adoptive and foster parents, including helping parents understand the impact of their child’s history, what they themselves bring to the parent-child relationship.
The Connected Child Class
An 8-week parenting class intended to deepen the understanding about the complex needs of children suffering the effects of early trauma, abuse or neglect. As well as, how and why these harmful experiences can impair development and lead to social, behavioral and emotional problems.
These classes build upon each other and will provide materials based on Dr. Karen Purvis’ Trust Based Relational Intervention model including practical skills and deep insights, used to help children heal and reach their highest potential.
This one time, one hour class will provide prospective adoptive parents with a crash course on the expectations and realities of adoption. This class is a great first step for those thinking about becoming adoptive parents.
